Your subscription covers both Scribd and Slideshare, so canceling here stops both.

Cancelling your Scribd or Slideshare subscription
Sign in on the Scribd website, then:
- Head to Your account.
- In the Your subscription section, select Manage Subscription next to Plan details.
- Select Cancel subscription. It's the link below the Pause subscription button.
- Follow the prompts to confirm cancellation.
Step 2. Manage Subscription sits in the Your subscription section on your Account page above the Pause subscription button.
Step 3. Cancel subscription is the link below the two buttons.
After canceling, you'll land on a page that says You've successfully canceled, with the date your subscription ends. We'll email a confirmation too.
There's a Resume subscription link there if you change your mind.
If you can't find Cancel subscription
- You only see Pause. Select Manage Subscription first. Cancel subscription is on the next page.
- Your subscription is paused. Resume it, then cancel right away to avoid a charge.
- You don't see a subscription. You may be signed in to a different Scribd account, or billed through Apple or Google.
If you can't sign in
You'll need to be signed in. Reset your password first. If you subscribed through Apple or Google, you can cancel there instead. If you can't get in at all, submit a request and we'll help sort it out.
Cancel through the App Store
Apple handles billing for App Store signups, so you'll cancel from your Apple account.
- Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions.
- Find your Scribd subscription.
- Tap Cancel Subscription.

Cancel through Google Play
Google Play works the same way. Cancel from your Google account:
- Open the Google Play app.
- Tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Find your Scribd subscription.
- Tap Cancel subscription.

What happens after you cancel
You keep everything you've already paid for. Full access stays on through the last day of your billing period. After that:
- No more charges, unless you resubscribe.
- You move to Basic, our free plan, with search across 300M+ documents.
- You can still upload and share on Scribd and Slideshare.
- Everything you've uploaded and saved stays put, so you can pick up where you left off.
- You'll lose AI summaries, Ask AI, text copying, ad-free reading, and offline access.
Free trials work differently. Access ends the moment you cancel, so finish anything you're in the middle of first.
Pausing instead of canceling
Pause if there's another project coming. Cancel if you're done.
Pausing freezes your billing for 4 or 12 weeks, then starts it back up automatically. Any days you'd already paid for are waiting when you return. Pausing your Scribd subscription has the full details.
Frequently asked questions
Q: Will I still be charged if I cancel near my renewal date?
A: Cancel your Scribd subscription any day before your renewal date, and you won't be charged again. You'll find that date next to Renews on, and again under Upcoming payment. Don't wait until the renewal date itself, because by then the payment is already going through. Apple and Google require 24 hours' notice, so give yourself an extra day there.
Q: I canceled, but I'm still being charged every month. Why?
A: The charge is coming from Apple or Google rather than from us. They bill those subscriptions, so you'll cancel from your Apple or Google account. Use the steps above for your platform.
Q: I canceled and got charged one more time. Can I get that back?
A: Canceling doesn't reverse a payment that already went through. See Refunds.
Q: What's the difference between canceling and deleting my account?
A: Canceling stops your billing. Deleting removes your account and everything in it. You can't delete an account with an active subscription, so cancel first and let the remaining time run out. See Deleting your Scribd account for more.
