Pausing your subscription

Sometimes you may need to put your subscription on hold without canceling it completely. Good news – our pause feature can help you with this!

Please note, this pause feature is not designed for long-term use. If you need to pause your subscription for longer than the durations provided, you may want to consider canceling your subscription.

What happens when my subscription is paused?

Pausing your subscription will freeze your billing cycle and access to some paid content for a specific period of time. If you pause in the middle of your billing cycle, you’ll still be able to enjoy the time you’ve previously paid for after your pause ends. For example, if you pause 5 days before your next billing date, you’ll have 5 days when your subscription resumes before you are billed for the next month’s payment.

On Everand, if you pause, you will retain access to your unlocked books, unlimited content, and still be able to use any unused unlocks accrued before pausing.

You can unpause your subscription at any time to resume your access to our library, even if it’s before the pause duration has expired.

  1. Sign in to your subscribed account, on Everand or Scribd – depending on your subscription plan
  2. Click on your profile icon on the top right-hand corner of the page
  3. Select “Your account” from the options listed
  4. Scroll down to the “Subscription” section
  5. Click the “Resume subscription” button

Please note: subscriptions to Everand and Scribd + Slideshare are managed separately.

I don’t see the option to pause my subscription

Pausing may not be available, depending on the type of subscription you have or the payment method you use. In general, if you don’t see the “Pause” link in the Subscription section of your account page, then you will not be able to pause your subscription.

Pausing your subscription to change your billing date

If you need to change your billing date, you can pause your subscription to accomplish this!

Simply pause your subscription, and the pause duration selected will equal the amount of days your billing date is pushed forward in time. For example, if you pause your subscription for 1 week, your billing date will be pushed back by 1 week when the pause expires and your subscription resumes.

If you need to adjust your billing date by a specific amount of time that isn’t provided as an option in the pause duration drop-down menu:

  1. Pause your subscription for the duration applicable
  2. Manually resume your subscription after the number of days you want to move your billing date by has elapsed

If you’re pausing your subscription in the middle of a billing cycle, you’ll need to include the days you’ve paid for in addition to the days you keep your subscription paused to secure your preferred billing date.
