Here's what you can control while listening to an audiobook or podcast on Everand.

Playback controls

The audio player shows these controls:

  • Play / Pause — the center button
  • Skip forward / back a chapter — the arrow buttons on either side
  • Jump forward / back — the circular arrows (typically 15 or 30 seconds)
  • Progress bar — drag to scrub through the book

Playback speed

Tap the speed indicator (shows "1.00x" or similar) in the lower left of the player to adjust. Options range from slower narration to faster playback. Your speed preference is saved across sessions.

Sleep timer

Tap the moon icon (☾) to set a timer. Choose a preset duration or set a custom one. Playback stops automatically when the timer runs out. To cancel a timer you've set, tap the moon icon again and select the off option.

On the web: the moon icon is in the bottom right of the player. In the app: it's in the lower left.

Chapters

Use the chapter menu (accessible from the upper corner of the player) to navigate to a specific chapter. Helpful for jumping back to a section you want to re-listen to.

Downloading for offline listening

Tap the three-dot menu in the upper right corner of the player and select "Download." The book will be stored on your device for offline access. See "How to download books for offline access" for more details.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Does my playback speed setting carry over between audiobooks?

A: Yes. Your speed preference is saved and applies to the next audiobook you play.

Q: Can I listen to audiobooks through my car's speakers?

A: Yes — via Bluetooth, CarPlay, or Android Auto. See "Listening to audiobooks with Bluetooth or CarPlay" for setup details.

Q: Why doesn't my audiobook have chapter navigation?

A: Chapter navigation depends on metadata provided by the publisher. Not all books include it. We add chapter markers manually for popular books over time.
