You can upgrade or downgrade your Everand Standard, Plus, or Deluxe plan at any time. How you switch plans depends on whether you subscribed in-app or on our website.
If you subscribed on Everand.com
- Sign in to your account on the Everand website.
- Click your profile icon in the upper right corner.
- Select “Your account.”
- In the Subscription section, select “View all plans.”
- Choose the plan you'd like to switch to and confirm.
Seeing a note about Apple or Google instead of "View all plans"? That means Apple or Google bills your subscription, so use the in-app steps below.
If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play
Since you subscribed through the app, you can switch plans directly in the Everand app.
- Open the Everand app and sign in.
- Tap "Account" in the bottom right.
- Select "Account Information."
- Then select “View plans.”
- Choose the plan you'd like to switch to and confirm.

When your change takes effect
Upgrades (e.g., Standard to Plus, or Plus to Deluxe) take effect immediately. Your payment will prorate for the remainder of your billing cycle, so you'll pay the difference between what you've already paid and the new plan price.
Downgrades (e.g., Deluxe to Plus, or Plus to Standard) take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. You'll keep your current plan's benefits until then.
What happens to my unlocks when I switch?
When you upgrade, you get your new unlocks (1, 3, or 5 depending on the plan) right away. When you downgrade, the unlocks you already have stay available until they expire, six months from the date they were added.
Saving a book isn't the same as unlocking it. Books stay on your saved list through a switch, but a book you haven't read will still need an unlock to open.
Switching from a Legacy plan
Our Legacy plan has been discontinued. If you're on one, you can switch to Standard, Plus, or Deluxe, but the switch is permanent, and you can't go back.
Here's what happens when you switch from a Legacy plan:
- You'll get your full unlock allocation immediately. See Everand plans: Standard, Plus, and Deluxe for what each plan includes.
- Your payment will be prorated for the rest of your billing cycle.
- You'll lose bundled access to Scribd and Slideshare (Legacy plans included all three products).
If you're not sure, take your time. Your Legacy plan isn't going anywhere unless you choose to switch. For the full picture, see I'm on a Legacy Everand plan.
Frequently asked questions
Q: Can I switch my plan from in-app to the Everand website?
A: If you'd like to move your subscription to the website, cancel through Apple or Google first, then resubscribe on the Everand website once the current period ends. You'll lose access in between, so it's worth waiting until your billing period is nearly up.
Q: I don't see "View all plans" on my Everand account.
A: That option only appears for subscriptions bought on the Everand website. If you subscribed on your phone and Apple or Google bills you, you’ll need to switch plans through the Everand app instead.
Q: I saved a book before switching plans. Why does it need an unlock now?
A: Saving and unlocking are two different things. Saving keeps a title on your list, and unlocking is what opens it to read. So a saved book you haven't read still needs an unlock.
Q: Can I switch back to my Legacy plan?
A: No, moving off a Legacy plan is permanent. However, once you switch, you can upgrade or downgrade between Standard, Plus, and Deluxe any time.
