Scribd Snapshots highlight key insights from bestselling and award-winning nonfiction books. They are available in audio and written format. Scribd's subscription is unique in that we're able to provide Snapshots alongside full-length versions of the book. Like movie trailers, Snapshots are meant to provide a preview of a book to help you determine if the full-length version is of interest to you.
Snapshots are offered to assist you in more efficiently finding the works you wish to read. They are not, and do not purport to be, a substitute for the work summarized. They are produced by Scribd in order to enhance your ability to discover the works most likely to meet your needs. Snapshot content is original work from Scribd and is copyright © 2019 by Scribd, Inc. All rights reserved. Please contact email@example.com with questions.
What/how many titles do you have?
Snapshots are currently available for a small portion of our nonfiction book and audiobook catalog, but we will be adding dozens of new Snapshots every month. Keep checking back!
What are the benefits of Snapshots?
When you read or listen to a Snapshot, you’ll come away with the key insights of the original work, giving you a better feel for which full-length titles suit your needs and interests. You might think of a Snapshot as the book version of a movie trailer: if you like a Snapshot, then chances are you’ll like the full title even more! Snapshots can also serve as a study guide, helping highlight the main takeaways or refresh your memory of a full title you’ve already enjoyed.
Can Snapshots be stored offline?
Yes! Snapshots can be downloaded to your device and stored offline so you can access them easily later, even if you’re no longer connected to the Internet. When you store a Snapshot offline, you’ll automatically store both the text and audio version. We have a handy guide on using our offline reading feature here.
Are Snapshots included in my current Scribd subscription?
Yes! Our premium membership grants you access to everything available within our library, including Snapshots. If you already have a Scribd membership, you’re all set to start reading Snapshots. Scribd is the only subscription that offers Snapshots alongside the full-length book or audiobook.
What languages do you support?
Snapshots are available in English at the moment. If you’d like to see them in another language, we’d love to hear from you!
How do you choose which books to turn into Snapshots?
We chose the books based on a variety of factors -- ranging from the popularity of the title to the release date to the category. If there is a nonfiction book available on Scribd that you'd like to see in a Snapshot, please let our support team know.
Why isn't there a Snapshot for every book?
We wish we could have Snapshots for every book! Snapshots are original works produced by Scribd, and quality is of the utmost importance to us. You can expect new Snapshots every month, and perhaps one day, we’ll be able to have Snapshots for every nonfiction book in our catalog!
Why does Scribd focus on nonfiction Snapshots instead of fiction?
The purpose of Snapshots is to help you dive deeper into the topics that interest you or those that you want to learn more about. While nonfiction titles focus on sharing ideas and information, fiction is usually just as much about the journey as it is about the destination. We don't feel a Snapshot could effectively give you a preview of fictional characters and plots in quite the same way.
Who writes and narrates each Snapshot?
Snapshots are original content developed by Scribd. We employ a team of talented writers, narrators, and editors who draft and review each and every Snapshot.
Are Snapshots owned by Scribd?
Yes, Snapshot content is original work from Scribd and is copyright © 2019 by Scribd, Inc. All rights reserved. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with questions.
Who can I contact if I have questions about copyright information for Snapshots?
Snapshot content is original work from Scribd and is copyright © 2019 by Scribd, Inc. All rights reserved. Please contact email@example.com with questions.
