There are a few different ways you can create an account with Scribd — we like to make it as easy as possible for everyone to enjoy what our library has to offer!
Getting started
To create a free account on Scribd:
- Click "Sign In" located in the top-right corner of the Scribd website, or on the top of the “Account” tab on the Scribd mobile app
- Select the "New to Scribd? Sign Up" link at the bottom of the pop-up window
From here, you can choose from a number of different methods to create your account.
Signing up through Email
If you prefer to create an account directly with Scribd rather than signing in with a Google, Facebook, or Apple account:
- Select or tap "Sign up with Email”
- Fill in the Name, Email, and Password fields
- Check the box if you’d like to receive updates from Scribd
- Select or tap on “Sign Up”
Signing up through Google
Linking your Scribd account to your Google account will allow you to sign in using Google on any device you choose to read on!
If you already have a Scribd account registered with the email address associated with your Google account, using the “Sign up with Google” option will link your Google account to the existing Scribd account registered with that email address.
Once you've registered a Scribd account using your Google account, you'll be able to use the "Continue with Google" option to sign in on your device of choice!
When you use the "Sign up with Google" option, your Google account credentials are what you'll use to sign in to your account. If you'd like to set a password for your Scribd account so that you can also sign in to Scribd without using your Google account, you can do this on the Your account page.
Signing up through Facebook
Scribd doesn’t require you to use Facebook or to link Facebook to your Scribd profile, but it’s an easy way to have a more personal profile on Scribd! You’ll be prompted to allow Scribd to access some of your Facebook profile data, and you’ll have to agree to this in order to proceed with this sign-up method.
When you use the "Sign up with Facebook" option, your Facebook account credentials are what you'll use to sign in to your account. If you'd like to set a password for your Scribd account so that you can also sign in to Scribd without using your Facebook account, you can do this on the Your account page.
If you have a Scribd account that you created that is not linked to your Facebook profile, and you sign in using Facebook, you’ll create a second, separate Scribd account. If this happens to you, contact Scribd Support and we'll help get things sorted out for you!
Signing up through Apple
You can use your Apple account to sign up for an account through the mobile Scribd app on an iOS device!
When you use the “Sign up with Apple” option, your Apple ID credentials are what you’ll use to sign in to your account. If you use Apple’s Hide My Email feature, the email address associated with your Scribd account may not be the email address you use for your Apple ID. If you'd like to set a password for your Scribd account so that you can also sign in to Scribd without using your Apple account, you can do this on the Your account page.
If you have a Scribd account that you created that is not linked to your Apple ID, and you sign in using Apple, you’ll create a second, separate Scribd account. If this happens, let our Scribd Support team know and we can help link your accounts!
