Many of our readers enjoy a good story or informative podcast right before bed, but don’t want to sleep through the entire thing! Are you worried about missing a major plot twist or your favorite host’s commentary? Have no fear – you can use our sleep timer to ensure audio playback stops exactly when you want it to.

Starting the sleep timer

To use the sleep timer option, you’ll first need to sign in to your Everand account and have an audiobook or podcast open in the audio player. From here, the steps are different depending on if you’re using the Everand mobile app or website, so let’s look over each option!

On the Everand website

  1. While listening to audio, click on the moon icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.
  2. Select your preferred timer duration from the menu that appears.
  3. Playback for the audiobook or podcast will stop after the duration chosen has elapsed.

On the Everand app

  1. While listening to audio, tap on the moon icon in the lower left corner of your screen.
  2. Select your preferred timer duration from the menu that appears, or set a custom timer length.
  3. If applicable, confirm you wish to save your timer duration.
  4. Playback for the audiobook or podcast will stop after the duration chosen has elapsed.

Stopping the sleep timer

Change your mind about a sleep timer you’ve set? You can turn off an existing timer by following these steps:

  1. While listening to audio, tap on the moon icon.
  2. Select the option for “Stop Timer” (this may also appear as “Turn sleep timer off” or “Off” depending on your device)
  3. If applicable, confirm you wish to turn the sleep timer off.
  4. The sleep timer will be disabled, and playback for your audiobook or podcast will continue until paused or completed.
