We know sometimes there’s nothing better than referring to a physical copy of someone’s work. When others upload documents to our library and make them available for download, they also give you the ability to print their creations!
What can I print?
Any document that you’re able to download directly as a file to your computer or device from Scribd is content that you can print.
You can print:
- Documents made available for download by their uploader
You cannot print:
- Documents that have been made unavailable for download by their uploader
- Any content on the Everand app or website
How do I know if a document can be downloaded?
If a document is available for download directly, you’ll see a “Download” button located below the document’s description and information while viewing it on the Scribd website. If the “Download” button is not present, the document is not available for direct download.
How do I download and print a document?
Some documents may require an active subscription in order to download. We’ll check your account and the document to request your payment, if necessary.
The steps to download and print a document differ slightly depending on the device you’re using, which is why we’ve included detailed steps for each method below.

- View the document you want to download
- Click on the “Download” button located in the upper-left of the page below the document’s description

- Locate and open the downloaded document on your computer using your preferred reader software
- Print your document (refer to your reader software’s guide for printing directions)
Using a mobile web browser
You must use the Scribd website to download a document directly to your mobile device; downloading a document using the Scribd app will not download the document’s file directly to your device.
- Sign in to your Scribd account on the Scribd website using your mobile web browser
- View the document you want to download
- Tap on the “Download” button located in the upper-left of your screen below the document’s description
- Select the file format for your download from the drop-down menu (if applicable)

From here, your next steps will vary depending on the operating system (OS) of your mobile device:

- A new tab will open in your mobile browser that contains the document
- Select the “Share” icon (Rounded square with an upward pointing arrow) at the bottom center of your device’s screen
- Choose your preferred method of downloading the file to your device (ex. “Save to Files”)
- Print the saved file using your preferred mobile printing app (refer to your printing app’s guide for printing instructions)
Android OS
- A pop-up will appear when your download has finished
- Select the popup to access its local file, or go to the “Downloads” app on your device and open the file from there
- Print the saved file using your preferred mobile printing app (refer to your printing app’s guide for printing instructions)
