Your knowledge evolves—your documents should too. Scribd makes it easy to update your uploads while keeping their URL, statistics, and visibility intact. Whether you’re refining ideas, correcting details, or adding new insights, revisions ensure your document stays relevant.
Uploading a revision
Before uploading a revision, please confirm:
- You’ve updated the document and saved the changes on your device.
- The file format is supported on Scribd.
How to upload a revised document:
- Go to your Document Uploads.
- Find the document you want to update and click the pencil icon next to it.
(On a mobile browser, the pencil icon appears below the document.) - On the edit page, scroll to "Replace existing version of the document."
- Click "Upload a new revision."
- Select your updated file using the "Choose File" button.
- Click "Upload."
Once the revision is processed, you’ll be redirected to your document’s page. If updates don’t appear immediately, refresh your browser.
Restoring a previous version
Your document’s history stays with you. Every revision is stored, allowing you to restore earlier versions at any time. Only you can access previous versions.
How to revert to a past version:
- On the document’s edit page, scroll to "Replace existing version of the document."
- Hover over the version you want to restore.
(On a mobile browser, tap the version to reveal the “Revert” option.) - Click "Revert."
- The selected version will now be marked as "Current", confirming the update.
