Every document uploaded to Scribd adds to a growing library of knowledge shared by millions of readers. But beyond contributing to this vast collection, uploading documents comes with direct benefits for you as well.
How does uploading documents benefit me?
Many documents on Scribd are freely available for download, while others require a subscription. If you don’t have a Scribd subscription, you may still be able to download documents by uploading your own original content. This allows you to exchange knowledge with the global community while gaining access to materials that interest you.

Can I earn money by uploading documents?
Scribd does not offer monetary payment for document uploads. If you’re an author looking to share your work for financial compensation, we recommend reading “My Books on Everand” for information about getting your work onto our ebook and audiobook platform.
Troubleshooting document downloads
If you’ve uploaded documents but are unable to download from Scribd’s library, here are some things to check:
1. Verify that the document can be downloaded
- Uploaded documents may be available for download, but ebooks and audiobooks from Everand are not.
- The uploader of a document controls whether it can be downloaded. If the “Download” button is missing, the document is not available for download.
2. Try basic troubleshooting steps
- Sign out of Scribd, then sign back in and try downloading again.
- Clear your cache, cookies, and browsing history, then reload the page.
- Attempt the download using a different web browser.
3. Avoid using a download manager
Scribd does not support third-party download managers. If you're using one, it may be blocking your ability to download.
4. Try downloading later
Scribd’s automated systems protect the library from unusual activity, which may temporarily restrict downloads. If this happens, wait 24 hours before attempting your download again.
Still need help?
