The Slideshare public API has been retired. This is a permanent change and there is no replacement API. If your application is receiving errors from the Slideshare API, this is the cause. There is nothing to fix on your end.
Frequently asked questions
What if I need the API to display presentations?
Use the embed option instead. On any presentation page, select Share, then copy the embed code and paste it into your site. Embeds are not affected by this change and will continue to work.
Will the API come back?
No. The retirement is permanent and there is no replacement API, public or private.
Is there an alternative endpoint for searching Slideshare content?
No. Embedding a presentation you have the URL for is the only supported way to use Slideshare content on another site.
Do I need to do anything with my API key?
No. Existing keys are inactive and no new keys are being issued. You can remove the credentials from your application.
Are embeds, links, or the Slideshare website affected?
No. Only the public API has been retired.
