We’re rolling out Projects, an AI-powered feature on Scribd designed to help you actively work with documents. Instead of just reading, Projects lets you ask questions, generate summaries, compare multiple sources, and create outputs, all in one place.
Where to find Projects
This feature is currently rolling out and is available to select users on the Scribd website. When Projects is available, you’ll see a panel on the right-hand side of your document.
Note: Projects is not available in the Scribd mobile app.
How to use Projects
Use Projects to interact with documents and generate insights, summaries, or new content:
Log in to your Scribd account.
- Open a doc and name your project or add a goal to guide the AI.
Add content by selecting Scribd documents.
- Ask questions or prompt the AI using the input field
Keep in mind that responses may take a few moments to process.
Examples:
- “Summarize this document.”
- “Compare these sources.”
- “What are the key ideas?”
What you can do with Projects
Projects helps you:
- Organize content by grouping related documents
- Interact with documents through questions, summaries, and explanations
- Synthesize across sources by comparing documents and identifying themes
- Create outputs like notes, study guides, or plans
Getting better results
- Be specific in your prompts (e.g., “Summarize Chapter 2 in 3 bullet points”)
- Add multiple relevant documents for richer insights
- Ask follow-up questions to refine responses
- Experiment with different prompt styles
Do projects replace reading?
No. Projects enhance your reading experience but does not replace the original content.
Why are answers sometimes incorrect?
AI-generated responses may sometimes:
- Misinterpret context
- Provide incomplete information
- Generalize inaccurately
Important: AI responses are assistive and may not always be accurate. Always verify key information against your source documents.
We used to recommend content that aligns with your interests.
Why are projects only available to some users?
Projects is currently being rolled out to a limited group of users. More users will gain access as the feature expands.
