Everand gives you control over how books look on your screen. Here's how to customize your reading experience.

Accessing display options

On the web: While reading, look for the Aa icon in the upper right corner.

In the app: Tap the screen once to reveal the toolbar, then tap the T icon in the upper right corner.

Display options may not be available for all books, depending on how the book was formatted.

Font

Choose between Serif and Sans Serif on the web. The app offers a wider selection of fonts to pick from.

Font size

Increase or decrease text size using the sizing controls in the display menu. If a book doesn't support font size changes, you can pinch-to-zoom on mobile or use a trackpad gesture on the web.

Theme

Adjust the background and text color to suit your reading environment. Options include light, dark, and sepia themes (available in both app and web).

Text alignment

Switch between justified and left-aligned text in the display options.

Line spacing (app only)

Three spacing options are available in the app. The spacing increases from left to right in the menu.

Brightness (app only)

Adjust reading brightness directly in the Everand app. Note: this also changes your device's brightness setting.

Orientation

Portrait and landscape modes are controlled by your device's rotation settings. If the display isn't rotating, check that auto-rotate is enabled in your device settings.

Bookmarks and highlights

Tap and hold text to highlight a passage or add a note. Bookmarks let you mark specific pages to return to later. Both sync across devices.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Why don't the display options work on some books?

A: Some ebooks have fixed formatting set by the publisher, which limits customization. This is most common with illustrated or heavily designed books.

Q: Do my display preferences carry over between books?

A: Yes. Your font, theme, and size settings persist across books.
