Most of them. Everand's catalog includes 1.5M+ audiobooks and ebooks, and the majority require an unlock to access. A smaller, curated selection — including podcasts, Everand Originals, and select audiobooks and ebooks — is available anytime without using an unlock.
How to tell the difference
The app doesn't label books that require an unlock — since most books do, the labeling works the other way around. Books you can enjoy without an unlock are marked "unlimited."
In search results: Use the "Catalog" filter to browse either catalog separately.
In your saved list: Use the "Availability" filter. Select "Requires unlock" to see which saved books need one.
On a book's page: If a book requires an unlock, you'll see an "Unlock" button. If it doesn't, you'll go straight to "Read" or "Listen."
The "unlimited" selection is a rotating collection — books may be added or removed over time. You can browse what's currently available at everand.com/unlimited.
A note on previews
You can always preview a book before using an unlock. Tap "Play sample" or "Read preview" on any book page to check it out. If you reach the end of the preview and want to keep going, you'll be prompted to use an unlock.
On a Legacy plan? The unlock system doesn't apply to you. See "I'm on a Legacy Everand plan" for how your access works.
Frequently asked questions
Q: How do I know if a book needs an unlock before I tap on it?
A: Look for the "unlimited" label — if a book has it, no unlock needed. If it doesn't, it requires one. The filters in search and your saved list make it easy to browse each catalog separately.
Q: A book I was reading is now showing as "unlimited." Did something change?
A: The "unlimited" selection rotates over time. If a book you previously unlocked moves there, it'll still be accessible — and it won't cost you an unlock going forward. This happens very rarely.
Q: Do podcasts and Everand Originals require an unlock?
A: No. Podcasts and Everand Originals are part of the selection available without an unlock.
