We want to be upfront about how refunds work so there are no surprises.
When we'll issue a refund
We consider refunds for charges within the last 30 days in these situations:
- Technical issues. Something on our end prevented you from using the service or a specific book. We may offer a replacement first. If we can't fix it, we'll refund.
- Defective content. A book you unlocked was significantly different from its preview or didn't work properly.
- Fraud. Your account was compromised and used without your permission.
- Payment error. We charged you by mistake.
- Unused subscription time. You were charged but didn't use the service during that billing period.
When we won't issue a refund
- You used the service during the billing period. If you actively read, listened, or accessed content, a refund for that charge generally won't apply.
- The charge is more than 30 days old. We can't process refunds for charges older than 30 days, regardless of the reason.
- Partial refunds. We don't offer partial refunds. If you used the service for part of a billing cycle and then canceled, you won't receive a refund for that charge.
If a discount or promotion was applied to your purchase, only the actual amount you paid is eligible for a refund.
How to request a refund
For subscriptions on everand.com: Start a conversation with our virtual assistant. Include as much detail as possible — your account email, the charge in question, and why you're requesting a refund. Having your order number (from your confirmation email) helps us find the charge quickly.
For App Store purchases: Apple handles refunds for subscriptions purchased through the App Store. Request a refund directly through Apple support.
For Google Play purchases: Google processes refunds for subscriptions purchased through Google Play. Note that issuing a refund through Google Play will cancel your subscription. If you'd like to stay subscribed, reach out to our virtual assistant — we may be able to apply a credit to your account instead. You can also request a refund through Google Play support.
EU and UK subscribers
If you're in the EU or UK, you have a legal right to withdraw from your subscription within 14 days of purchase and receive a full refund.
Frequently asked questions
Q: I used the service this month but want a refund. Am I eligible?
A: Generally, no. If you actively read, listened, or accessed content during the billing period, a refund for that charge won't apply. Refunds are typically limited to technical issues, defective content, fraud, payment errors, or genuinely unused subscription time.
Q: I canceled but was charged. Can I get that money back?
A: Everand will never charge you after your subscription has been successfully canceled. If you're seeing a charge after canceling, one of two things is likely happening:
If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, you need to cancel through that platform directly. Canceling on the Everand website won't stop charges from Apple or Google.
If you canceled through the correct platform and are still seeing charges, something went wrong and we want to fix it. Reach out through our virtual assistant and we'll investigate.
Q: How long does a refund take?
A: Refunds go back to the original payment method. Processing time depends on your bank or payment provider, but it's typically a few business days.
