Need a break but don't want to cancel? If you signed up on everand.com, you can pause your subscription. Pausing freezes your billing for a set period — anywhere from 1 to 12 weeks. Your account stays active, and when the pause ends, you pick up right where you left off.

To pause:

  1. Sign in to your account on the Everand website.
  2. Tap your profile icon in the upper right corner.
  3. Select "Your account."
  4. In the Subscription section, select "Pause subscription."
  5. Choose how long you'd like to pause (up to 12 weeks).
  6. Confirm your selection.

You'll get an email confirming your subscription is paused.

What happens while you're paused

Your billing is frozen — you won't be charged until your pause ends. If you paused in the middle of a billing cycle, you'll still have the remaining time you already paid for once your subscription resumes. For example, if you pause with 5 days left in your billing cycle, you'll get those 5 days back before your next charge.

While paused, you keep access to your unlocked books and can still use any unused unlocks you had before pausing. Content that doesn't require an unlock remains available too.

Ready to come back early?

You can unpause anytime — you don't have to wait until the full pause period ends.

  1. Sign in to your account on the Everand website.
  2. Go to your account settings.
  3. Select the option to resume your subscription.

Good to know

Pausing is only available if you signed up on the Everand website. If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, the pause option won't appear in your account settings. You'll need to manage your subscription through those platforms directly.

You can't pause during a free trial. The pause feature is available once your paid subscription is active.

On a Legacy plan? Pausing preserves your Legacy plan. When you resume, everything picks up where it left off — same plan, same billing, same bundled access to Scribd and Slideshare. See "I'm on a Legacy Everand plan" for the full details.

Want to shift your billing date? Pausing is a handy way to do this. Your billing date shifts forward by however long you pause. For example, if you pause for 1 week, your billing date moves forward by 1 week. Pause durations are available in weekly increments.
