We’re happy to provide updated troubleshooting steps to work around any issues caused by Android error 200-404. Our recent app updates have also successfully resolved error 201. For more information, read on.
Android Error 200-404
While our engineering team continues working to fully resolve this issue, we’ve confirmed a solution for users who continue to encounter Android error 200-404.
First, ensure your app is updated to version 11.6.2 or newer.
Next, please clear the cache within the Scribd app.
- Open the Scribd app on your Android device.
- Tap the "Account" icon shaped like a small person at the bottom right of the screen.
- Select "Downloads" from the options that appear.
- Select "Clear cache".
We also strongly recommend downloading your audio content for offline listening if possible. Downloading content should prevent this issue from recurring.

Android Error 201
Please ensure your Scribd app is updated to version 11.6.2 or newer.
Updating to the latest app version has resolved issues with error 201 for most of our users. If you continue to encounter this error message after updating, we recommend taking the steps below to clear the Scribd app data from your device:
- From your device Settings, select Apps.
- Select the Scribd app.
- Tap Storage.
- Tap Clear Data or Clear Storage (depending on your device).
- Tap OK.
These steps should fully resolve any lingering issues with Android error 201. Please be aware that clearing the app data will remove any Scribd titles that you have previously downloaded on your device for offline reading or listening. You'll need to re-download any titles for offline reading, however your saved lists, reading progress, notes, and highlights are automatically saved online.
