While we want everyone to remain part of the SlideShare community, we also understand that you may choose to close your account someday.

Deleting your account does not cancel a paid subscription. You will continue to be billed for any active subscription unless you cancel the subscription through your Scribd account settings. Please see our directions on canceling your SlideShare subscription, and the expanded article on how to cancel through Scribd.

What happens when I delete my SlideShare account?

If you delete your SlideShare account, your account and its data can't be reactivated or recovered. Upon deletion, the account will be closed immediately. However, it can take up to three hours for public content uploaded to the account to be removed from SlideShare.

Deleting your account will also impact search rankings, SEO, and prevent uploads embedded on other websites from working. Information that appears in search engines (Google, Yahoo, etc.) is gathered by the search engines themselves, and the speed at which your information is removed depends on how often each search engine updates their information.

I have a duplicate account – should I delete the one I don’t want to use?

If you have a duplicate account on SlideShare, it's not currently possible for us to merge the two (or their uploads) together into a single account. We recommend uploading all of your content onto the account you want to keep first, and then deleting the empty account you won’t be using.

To delete your SlideShare account:

  1. Sign in to your account on the SlideShare website
  2. Click on your account icon in the top right of the page
  3. Select “Account Settings” from the drop-down menu
  4. Click on the “Account” tab
  5. Within the “Delete Account” section, select the option to “Delete Account”
  6. Confirm your account deletion by selecting “Yes, delete my account” from the pop-up that appears
