If your subscription is on hold or we couldn't process your last renewal, it’s usually because a card expired or your bank declined the charge. Updating your Scribd or SlideShare payment method fixes it.

How to update your payment method:

If you subscribed on the Scribd or SlideShare website, you can add or remove a card, or change which card we charge, all without cancelling anything. Here's how:

  1. Sign in on the Scribd website. (SlideShare subscriptions are managed there too.)
  2. Select Your Account.
  3. Scroll to Membership & Payment Details.
  4. Select Update Payment Details.
  5. Enter your new details, then save.

Adding backup payment information

A backup payment method keeps your work and subscription uninterrupted when there's an issue processing your renewal with your primary payment method.

You can store up to three payment methods on your account. One is your preferred method, and that's the one we charge. The rest are backups, so a failed renewal doesn't interrupt your work.

Updating a payment through another platform

The App Store, Google Play, PayPal, and Venmo all process your card and bank details on their platform, so that's where you’ll update them.

If you're looking to update a payment through Google Pay, or update your payment method through Apple Pay, we recommend following their detailed support articles.

Changing to a different payment platform

A payment platform change will require canceling and resubscribing.

Updating your payment with the App Store to a credit card, or from PayPal to Venmo, moves the billing relationship — and we can't change that for an active subscription. Cancel, then subscribe again with your preferred payment platform.

Resubscribing puts you on current plans and pricing, so your locked-in price or plan may change. If you only need a different card behind PayPal or Venmo, use the Updating a payment through another platform section above instead, and your plan stays as is.
