Learning doesn’t stop when you’re offline. With the Scribd app, you can store documents to read anytime, even without an internet connection.

Storing documents for offline reading

  1. Open the document you want to save.
  2. Tap “Save” to add it to your saved list for easy access.
  3. To store the document on your device for offline reading, tap “Download” on the document summary page.
  4. Once the download is complete, you can read the document with or without an internet connection.

Locating downloaded content

  1. Tap the Saved icon (bookmark) in the bottom navigation menu.
  2. Turn on the “Downloaded” toggle.
  3. Your list will now display only the documents stored for offline reading.

Removing a downloaded document

When you're done with a document or need to free up storage space, you can remove it from your device while keeping it in your Saved list for future access.

  1. Tap the Saved icon (bookmark) at the bottom of your screen.
  2. Ensure the “Downloaded” toggle is turned on to locate offline content.
  3. Tap the trash can icon below the document you want to remove.
  4. A prompt will ask for confirmation—select “Remove” to delete the file from your device.

Even after deletion, the document remains in your Saved list, so you can download it again whenever you need it.
