How do I search within a book using the App?

Scribd makes the text in a title searchable so you can find specific content quick and easy. If you're reading a book, and you want to find a particular word, or phrase, you can search the book for it.

There are two options for searching:

Option one: With the reading header up, select the magnifying glass icon on the bottom of the page, then type in what you wish to search the book for.

Option two: Select a word directly on the page by pressing and holding down on it. Then choose 'Search'.

With each option, all the results that Scribd finds will automatically show up along with the page number it was found on. By selecting one of the results, you'll be taken directly to that page of the book.

If the search function isn't available, it may be a title that was scanned and uploaded. Though in the conversion process Scribd makes the text searchable and available to major search engines, Scribd does not perform optical character recognition (OCR) on scanned titles. Which means, some titles that are from scanned images won't be searchable even if easily read.
