How do I access sheet music on Scribd?

We're beyond thrilled to have the opportunity to include music readers in our eclectic community of reading enthusiasts! In this article we'll very broadly cover the basic of sheet music on our service, how to navigate it, and how to search for it!

What is sheet music?

  • Sheet music is a new subset of content we're offering on the Scribd website. These are books of music provided by our publishing partners that include the movie soundtracks, albums, and song compilations from artists across many decades and genres and for every skill level (beginner to expert!). Our sheet music is separate from our instructional books, so if you're looking to learn how to play drums - you may just find what you're looking for in our e-book section instead. But if you need to practice an epic guitar solo, or you're looking to brush up those Viola skills head on over to our Sheet Music section!

So who can access sheet music, anyway?

  • Anyone with an active Scribd subscription automatically gains access to our selection of quality sheet music! There's no limit to how many books or songs you can check out. It's all freely accessible with your active Scribd subscription membership.

Can I download sheet music?

  • Unfortunately, we cannot always guarantee that a particular document or book will be available for direct download. The usual rules for e-books still apply here - ultimately, it's up to the publisher whether a title is available or not.
  • While our subscription content is not usually available for direct download, you can absolutely download it for offline reading. If you are using the Scribd app on your iOS or Android device, then you can store the sheet music on your device to read offline at anytime! We have more information about how to get the Scribd app on your device in our support guide, located here.

I play the trombone, do you have sheet music for that?

  • Currently, we offer sheet music available for Alto Sax, Bass, Cello, Clarinet, Double Bass, Drums & Percussion, Flute & Piccolo, French Horn, Guitar, Piano, Tenor Sax, Trombone, Trumpet, Tuba, Ukele, Viola, and Violin! If you don't see your instrument up there, don't fret! It may be categorized within other books, or it may be elsewhere on the site. We're constantly evolving our entire library of titles with more books coming in every day!

How do I find sheet music I'm interested in?

There's a few ways to find what you're looking for!

Browsing sheet music:

  • You can browse all of our premium sheet music just the same as you would browse our ebook or audiobook catalogs. To start, head over to our Sheet Music section and take a look! You can get there by clicking "Sheet Music" in the upper left corner.

  • Once you get there, you'll have many options to choose from. You can take a quick peek at some of our staff favorites under the "Scribd Selects Sheet Music" category, or view some fan favorites under our "Top Sheet Music" section. We even have handy links for browsing by difficulty, instrument, or genre that will take you directly to a catalog of music you're sure to enjoy.
  • When you're searching and browsing our categories you'll also be able to filter them even more by the type of instrument. So for example, if you're browsing based on the difficulty you can then narrow down your search to what's trending, or to your instrument of choice!

Searching for sheet music:

  • Searching for sheet music is a breeze, and works exactly the same as searching for other content. We have some general guidelines to searching our library in our support guide titled "Searching and Browsing Scribd's Library". Click here to take a look!
  • There are some sheet music-specific filters that make searching a snap! Just enter your search term in the search box in the upper left corner of the website:

  • If the first few results aren't what you're looking for, click "View All Search Results". On the Search page that pops up, you'll have the opportunity to select "Sheet Music" and refine your results even further!

In conclusion..

There's a whole world of music out there just waiting to be played and Scribd is so excited to be a part of that! We hope you find exactly what your'e looking for!
