How do I listen to audiobooks on

Not every second can be spent reading a book but that doesn't mean that you should be without a good one. Listen to great books on Scribd! Now you can search the web, answer an email, or simply give your eyes a rest while you relax and listen. You'll be able to enjoy great audiobooks on Scribd with your premium membership!

There are two ways to find audiobooks on Scribd. When you select the 'Browse', you'll see there's two options -- either books or audiobooks. The best way to find a great new book to listen to will be looking through the genres that way. You're welcome to search for a specific audiobook as well. If we have it, you'll be able to find it based on the title or the author. Enter in your search phrase in the area provided, and when you scroll through the results, you'll first find books and then audiobooks matching your search. Select the tab 'Audiobooks' to see all the titles matching your results in the audio format.

When you find an audiobook you're interested in, simply click on the book cover to be taken to the book's synopsis page. You'll find the length of the audiobook directly underneath the author's name as well as who it was narrated by. Beneath the 'Narrated by' section you'll find an option to listen to a sample of the book before you decide if it's the book for you.

To start playing the book, select 'Start Listening' and a pop-up screen with the book will appear. Select the 'Play' button to start enjoying!

You'll see the options to skip forward a chapter, move back a chapter and pause the book at anytime on the audio page. There's also a 'jump' option to fast forward or rewind at a 30-second intervals.

Sometimes you'll need to skip ahead or backtrack in a book and simply using the 'skip chapter' options are going to cause it to be a longer process than you would want. Luckily you can choose a chapter to jump straight to it. Bring up the 'Options' Menu by clicking the icon in the upper righthand corner, go to 'Table of Contents' and you'll find the list of Chapters to jump straight to one.

You can set it up so that the book stops itself by selecting the symbol that looks like a moon and star found on the lefthand side of the audio page. When you select that, the Sleep Timer menu will appear and from there select the length of time you wish for the book to play. Once the timer counts down to zero, the book will automatically turn off. If you like to read before bed, you can fall asleep to the words being read to you and know that it won't be running all night long.

If you run into any issues with an audiobook on the site, please be sure to contact Scribd support -- include the name of book that you are having issues with and describe the trouble in detail. They'll get to work on seeing about a fix for the problem so you can enjoy the audiobook again as quickly as possible.

Happy listening!
