Making your documents freely available on Scribd

  • Updated

Scribd is a powerful platform for sharing knowledge. Whether you’re a teacher, a non-profit, or simply someone who wants to distribute information widely, you can make your documents accessible to everyone—without requiring a subscription.

How to enable free access to your documents

  1. Sign in to your Scribd account on the website.
  2. Open your account settings:
    • On a desktop browser, click your profile icon in the upper right-hand corner.
    • On a mobile browser, tap the menu in the upper left-hand corner and select “Hi, [Your Name]!"
  3. Select “Your account.”
  4. Scroll to the “Uploaded documents” section.
  5. Check the box next to “Allow everyone free access to your documents.”

Once enabled, your documents will be fully readable and downloadable for all users—no Scribd subscription required.

To ensure your audience can access your document exactly the way you intend, review the reader permissions on each document to confirm that downloads are enabled.
