Will Scribd allow the work I upload to Scribd to be used by third parties?

  • Updated

You have complete control over the content you upload to Scribd. It is your work, after all. If a third party wants to use work you've posted to Scribd, they must contact you directly to obtain your permission. Scribd does not act as licensing and permissions broker on behalf of our members, and Scribd will not release private contact information beyond what you choose to list in your public profile.

However, we strongly recommend that you make your work available under a Creative Commons license. A Creative Commons license will enable third parties to use your work without needing your direct permission. Scribd supports all major creative commons licenses and you can learn more about them to decide if it's the route you want to take. Click here for more information about Creative Commons.
