What payment methods can I use? Is it safe?

We know you can't wait to join and start reading your way through Scribd's collection. We can't wait either! But let's cover what payment methods are accepted by Scribd as well as ease any doubts you may have when it comes to your personal security.

What payment methods can I use?

Scribd accepts credit card (MasterCard, VISA, American Express, and Discover) or PayPal. When you select the PayPal option, you'll be directed to PayPal's secure site to enter your PayPal email address and password and confirm the order.

If you're trying to make an individual purchase for one of the 'Buy Now' titles, PayPal will not be accepted and you'll only be able to complete the check out using one of the four credit cards listed above. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes.

Is my payment information secure?

When you enter or update your payment information with Scribd, that data is transmitted securely over SSL. So yes, your information is secure. Whether you pay by credit card or through PayPal, your information is secured and encrypted to protect your information.

Your payment information is only ever stored by PayPal, or by Adyen and CyberSource - our credit card processing services. We do not store any of your credit card details directly on Scribd's servers. We know your information is valuable and requires the utmost care. We want you to feel safe on Scribd. Just know, Scribd's connections to PayPal, Cybersource, and Adyen are secured and encrypted to protect your data when you choose to make a purchase with us.

If you have any questions, concerns, or troubles with completing a purchase on Scribd, please contact Scribd support for assistance. There's nothing more important than making sure your money is secure and your purchase is working properly so don't be shy about contacting them with any issue you're encountering, they're always happy to help.
