Scammers have been known to send mass emails that pretend to confirm a new subscription. The emails include a phone number where more information can be obtained. These emails are not sent by Scribd, Inc, and you should not engage with the email, call the phone number, or open related attachments.

Here are some tips to help identify emails that were sent by Scribd, Inc:

  • All emails sent from Scribd, Inc will come from an official email account, at one of the following domains:
    • Scribd.com
    • Everand.com
    • SlideShare.net
  • Confirmation emails from Scribd, Inc will provide identifying information, including (but not limited to) your order number, email address, and payment method.
  • We will never ask you to call to confirm your account information or payment details.

What should I do if I receive a suspicious email?

The best way to avoid being scammed is to delete the email. Do not reply, call or click on attachments. This will prevent bad actors from getting your information.

What should I do if I called, replied to an email, or opened an attachment?

  • If you provided payment information, call your financial institution to check for suspicious activity. Your account may have been compromised.
  • Update your password on any websites you believe may have been targeted.
  • If you have antivirus software installed, use it to perform a scan of your device.

How can I keep my information safe?

  • Always check to see if an email you received came from a company’s official @domain.
  • Don’t call provided phone numbers unless you can confirm they are associated with the company.
  • Never click on links or attachments unless you have verified that the email was sent from a company’s official @domain. You can hover over a link to preview the URL and confirm the destination address is a trusted website.
  • Never provide personal or financial information over email.
