How do I update content already published to Scribd?

To update content that already exists in your account, simply submit the updates to the FTP server like usual. For every metadata record you submit, our service will determine if the item is already published to Scribd. If it is, the metadata of the existing Scribd document will be updated. If you also submit new content for an item that's already published, i.e., a new PDF or ePub file, the new content will be published as a revision to the existing document.

Internally, the PublisherTools service uses the ISBN to identify already-published titles. Scribd is agnostic about which ISBN you use—print, digital, etc.—but be sure to consistently use the same ISBN for a given title.
