Every day thousands of documents are uploaded to Scribd—including research reports, best-selling books, news source material and more—and we realized that we've accumulated a vast archive of material, arguably rivaling some of the great libraries and institutions of the world. The Scribd Archive is the product of that realization, an acknowledgement of the importance of the combined scholarship and imagination of so many people. The Scribd Archive is like the Smithsonian of digital documents—only it includes much newer material and you can use it from the comfort of your own internet connection.

After an initial period of time on Scribd, we place documents in the Scribd Archive. People can read them online, send them to a wide variety of ebook readers and mobile devices, or download them for reading offline with an “Archive Subscription.” Archive subscriptions are available for 1 day of access (non-recurring), 1 year of access (non-recurring) or as a monthly recurring subscription.

Even before they're in the Scribd Archive, though, documents will enjoy all the features that make Scribd great. When you browse and search for documents we'll show you relevant content regardless of whether it's in the Archive or not.
